John J. Steffen, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist in the Mental Health Services Research, Evaluation, and Training Program of the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM) and a Professor in the Department of Psychology at UHM. His areas of interest include identifying the factors associated with recovery from serious mental illnesses, the primary care needs of consumers of mental health services, service delivery models for people who have co-occurring substance use and mental disorders, the creation, management, and use of large mental health databases, and the measurement of psychosocial status and outcome variables in mental health settings. He is also trying to develop expertise in the use of geographic information systems for the analysis of mental health care delivery.Email:sjohn@hawaii.edu
