Prospective Students

Prospective students who are interested in graduate assistantship and training in the MHSRET Program are encouraged to contact program faculty before or during the application process for graduate school. Graduate Assistantships begin July 1st and end on June 30th and are often annually renewable, particularly when students are interested in studying severe and persistent mental illness and working in public mental health systems. Detailed information about our program is available in the Graduate Research Assistant Manual.

Student Training

The MHSRET Program provides a variety of science-to-service and mental health services research training opportunities in the area of adult public mental health systems, psychosocial rehabilitation, and the area of severe and persistent mental illness. Many of our training sites are at Hawaii State Hospital and community-based programs operated by the State of Hawaii's Adult Mental Health Division.
